SyntheSys welcomes esteemed Requirements Engineering Specialist, Jeremy Dick, to the team

Whitby, UK 8^th August, 2016.  SyntheSys Systems Engineers Ltd is delighted to announce its latest recruit, Jeremy Dick.  Jeremy brings his skills and in-depth experience in implementing practical requirements processes, and his extensive Requirements Engineering knowledge.

Jeremy has over 20 years’ experience in Requirements Engineering and has held positions of Technical Leader in a range of different industry sectors including Automotive, Aerospace and Nuclear Energy. His blend of technical expertise and excellent communication skills has led to him spearheading Requirements Management programmes for many high profile organisations and public sector projects, where his mentoring and technical contributions have transformed corporate processes.  Jeremy studied Computing Science at Imperial College, London and Oxford University and he has a wealth of Technical knowledge including DOORS eXtension Language, C, C++ and Java, B, Z, VDM and other formal methods (both in-use and development), UNIX, PC Windows/Microsoft tools and Prolog.

An active member of the International Council on Systems Engineering, (INCOSE), Jeremy’s research and publications on evidence-based Development and Requirements Management is widely recognised throughout the Systems Engineering community.  He has also co-written the 2002 Springer book ‘Requirements Engineering’, now in its 3^rd edition.

As a Managing Consultant, Jeremy will be working predominantly in our Systems Engineering Business Group where his technical know-how will benefit our cloudbaSE customers and those clients to whom we supply IBM tools.  Jeremy’s arrival reinforces our commitment to our partnership with IBM and we anticipate his experience will give us leverage to engage with new markets, whilst strengthening the service we can offer to our existing customers.

New Tasking: UK MOD tasks SyntheSys to provide TDL test and acceptance expertise

SyntheSys today announces acceptance of a 14 month contract to support the Project Team (PT) for the A400M military transport aircraft to progress the MIDS/Link 16 integrated test evaluation and acceptance plan (ITEAP).  The project also includes ongoing MIDS integration support to the A400M MIDS/Link 16 programme.

This kind of testing is no mean feat; TDL testing is a through-life activity from checking the theoretical implementation, through standards conformance testing, to live trials.  It is conducted through both paper-based scrutiny and rig-based testing.  SyntheSys’ proven experience of developing test strategies, preparing test scripts, and analysis makes the company number one choice for this task.  Utilising its ‘VECTOR’ portfolio of testing services, the Company is able to apply comprehensive systems engineering practices to establish evidence that systems operate correctly and interoperate effectively with other military platforms, not only adding overall value to any given project but ensuring that our armed services are operating with the best quality equipment.

SyntheSys delivers Link 16 Network Design Training to Cassidian

SyntheSys are pleased to announce the delivery of a Link 16 Network Design Course at Eurofighter System Support Centre in Manching, Germany. Personnel from both Cassidian and the German Air Force were provided with an in depth understanding of Link 16 Network Design and the importance of correctly assessing a platforms requirements.  Specifically focused on the Typhoon Eurofighter, personnel were instructed on the calculus involved to create the most efficient Network Designs based upon both extensive research and analysis of the platform and assessment of Link 16 documentation. Systems Engineering Training Delivered to Atomic Energy Authority

SyntheSys are pleased to announce that they have successfully completed an initial Systems Engineering Course for one of the divisions at the United Nations International Atomic Energy Agency in Vienna between 17th and 21st June. Following a Training Needs Analysis earlier in the year, a course based around INCOSE principles was created and delivered. Feed back was very positive.

Tony Castle as the SyntheSys Training Manager, and Mark Williamson  as SE Subject Matter Expert 'enjoyed' a mini heatwave in Vienna and took respite in cooling influence of fine Austrian Pils and terrific local delicacies of Schnitzel and Ribs, in the balmy evenings.
