SyntheSys Defence recently participated in the 25th
NATO Tactical Data Link Symposium, which took place in Calpe, Spain. The event was well supported by NATO and
partner nations, industry, international companies and academia, with circa 150
operators, technicians, trainers and TDL experts representing 21 countries.
The event, coordinated by the Data Link Support Staff (DLSS)
as part of NATO Headquarters Consultation, Command and Control Staff (NHQC3S),
convened a comprehensive agenda which allowed multi-way discussion and
engagement opportunities between all attendees. An expansive range of topics were addressed by
detailed presentations, discussions and workshops, all of which built around
the conceptual, strategic, technical and operational aspects of TDL technologies
and national requirements.
Held over four days, the symposium sought to promote a
better understanding and unclassified insight into some of the latest
advancements in information exchange technologies. To touch upon but a brief overview of an
extensive programme, briefings addressed technical applications of a multitude
of TDLs’ training strategies; strategic updates and directives; TDL
interoperability evaluation, along with network architecture and designs.
Overall, the event allowed SyntheSys Defence to strengthen existing
relationships, participate in future development scoping workshops and build new
partnerships through a variety of initiatives. If you would like to know more please contact
