We are delighted to welcome Su Ross to the SyntheSys family to lead our new associate company, SyntheSys Direct. Su, who lives in Hampshire, is Managing Director of SyntheSys Direct Ltd, a new company which has been established to serve a growing demand for software licensing which has previously been an element of our Systems Engineering Business Group.
This venture is the joint brainchild of SyntheSys Managing Director John Hartas and Su, and has, as she emphasises, “fantastic potential for the future.” SyntheSys Direct will handle licensing, transactional and technical matters connected with software distribution.
SyntheSys provides services to government and industry on the design, testing, delivery and maintenance of information systems. John said “Over the past 18 months, the growth within our Systems Engineering Business group has taken us into markets and industries which have an increased need for tool support. Our traditional System Engineering (SE) capability has been centred around mentoring organisations to implement sound and structured SE procedures, which often results in us supporting implementation of new tools or re-licensing of existing tools. By establishing SyntheSys Direct, we see that this gives us more potential to provide independent services within our Systems Engineering group, whilst benefitting from Su’s unrivalled knowledge of market-leading Systems Engineering tools’’.
Su has a wealth of leadership and commercial experience which positions her well to lead SyntheSys Direct. She has been working within the software sales industry for the past 16 years, after working as a buyer for a Tier 1 supplier to the automotive industry.
Previously, Su was a Sales Manager for Integrate Systems, where she worked for nearly three years. She sold systems engineering tools to the aerospace and defence, energy, transport and rail sectors, amongst others. Prior to this, Su was an account manager at IBM and software client lead for seven years – selling the entire IBM software portfolio into local government.
Su added: “In future, at SyntheSys Direct, the idea is to expand into software sales primarily and also to open up opportunities for other services and training that we currently provide and continue to build on our IBM Business Partner relationship. This will involve selling to our existing customer base and we hope to attract new customers in markets in which SyntheSys has not traditionally operated. We hope to take a flexible approach to our software delivery offering a holistic, end to end service with training or services combined. Fundamentally, we want to add value to our customers and help them become successful in their new and existing development projects. This is a brand-new venture for SyntheSys and I believe it holds tremendous potential. I am really looking forward to the new challenge”.
Su enjoys many hobbies including keeping active and fit with running, cardio classes and yoga. She also rides her motorcycle on trips around Europe.
