SyntheSys is delighted to announce it has maintained Cyber Essentials Plus accreditation

Maintaining Cyber Essentials Plus is vital for SyntheSys as, not only does it manage our information security risk, it also helps us meet our ongoing contractual and supply chain needs.

We are delighted to announce we have passed our latest assessment 5 years after our first certification.  During this time it has allowed SyntheSys to demonstrate a level of assurance to our customers by showing that security controls are in place to protect the business.  Having ‘Plus’ certification adds extra value to the company as it gives us access to an external auditor who can give SyntheSys the peace of mind that our cyber security is up to scratch.

Luke McCarthy our IT Lead expresses the need for cyber security, “As a longstanding tele-working business, the need for security across the company is our highest priority. As cyber threats become increasingly complex, it is vital that we keep our standards high and ensure we have the best possible security in place for us, and our customers.”

SyntheSys Maintains Cyber Essentials Plus Accreditation

SyntheSys is committed to minimising our information security risk as well as meeting our ongoing contractual and supply chain needs, which is why we are pleased to announce that we have recently passed our latest assessment in recognition of our commitment to cyber security.

We see the Cyber Essentials Plus certification scheme as vital in protecting our business and our customers.  The certification process tests an organisation’s Information Technology (IT) systems through detailed vulnerability assessments, carried out by independent cyber security experts, to ensure that IT systems can withstand the most common cyber threats.

SyntheSys Gains Cyber Essentials Plus Certification

SyntheSys is delighted to have been recognised for its proficiency in Cyber Security, having attained the Cyber Essentials Plus certification.  Cyber Essentials is a Government-backed, industry-supported scheme to help organisations protect themselves against common online threats.

The certification provides a rigorous test of an organisation’s cyber security systems through detailed on-site vulnerability assessments carried out by independent cyber security experts.  In addition to the initial self-assessment, security checks against both internal devices and external facing systems are designed to ensure that IT security systems can withstand potential hacking and phishing attacks.

SyntheSys’ Operations Manager, Nikki Haynes, said: “It is widely recognised that today’s digital age poses an ever-changing cyber landscape and threat; which is why attaining both levels of Cyber Essentials has been an important aim for the company from the moment the scheme started.

SyntheSys has always been committed to ensuring appropriate measures remain in place regarding our information security risk, as well as to meet ongoing contractual and supply chain needs.  Having started with Cyber Essentials, achieving the next level, Cyber Essentials Plus, demonstrates to our Customers that we have successfully implemented yet another tier of controls in our endeavours to combat these threats.  As the assessment included independent onsite testing to a recognised level, this offers an extra assurance and confidence to anyone working with us that we do indeed take the cyber threat seriously.’’

IT Governance congratulates SyntheSys on achieving Cyber Essentials certification

SyntheSys is proud to announce that we have achieved Cyber Essentials, a Government-backed cyber security certification that sets out a minimum standard for cyber security.

The Cyber Essentials scheme outlines five security controls to help organisations mitigate cyber risks and improve their cyber security posture. To achieve certification, organisations are required to address their boundary firewalls and Internet gateways, implement secure configuration, adequately manage access control and administrative privilege management, implement patch management, and ensure malware protection.

Nikki Haynes, Operations Manager of SyntheSys, said: “Achieving Cyber Essentials was seen as a way to demonstrate a level of assurance to our customers, by showing that security controls are in place to protect the business, its IT systems and information, and that these controls have been assessed against an independent, formal framework. ‘’
