SyntheSys is Proud to Announce that it has Signed an Armed Forces Covenant with the MOD

The Armed Forces Covenant is a commitment between the Armed Forces community, the nation and the Government.  It encapsulates the moral obligation to ensure that those who serve or have served in the Armed Forces, and their families, are treated fairly.  By working with a range of businesses, local authorities, charities and the public, the Government is committed to delivering the best possible outcomes for the Armed Forces community.

The Covenant’s twin underlying principles are that members of the Armed Forces community should face no disadvantage compared to other citizens in the provision of public and commercial services; and that special consideration is appropriate in some cases, especially for those who have given the most, such as the injured or the bereaved.

Over 670 companies and organisations have signed a corporate covenant and we are happy to be one of these companies.  Since 2011 over £170 million of contributed funding has been allocated to support covenant commitments including:

  • A £35 million fund focusing on mental health and injured personnel
  • A total of £21 million for key World War I and II commemorations, veterans with service related hearing problems, and to help set up a third care home for Gurkha veterans in Nepal
  • £20 million to improve the infrastructure for service childcare support
  • A £40 million Veterans Accommodation Fund

We are proud to be accepted onto the register and see this as yet another indication of our commitment to our Armed Forces.  We also offer a 5% discount for all military ID card holders.

Free Webinar: Increase the Value of Interoperability Management

 Thursday, 12th May 2016  | 15:00 BST  |  1 hour
Free Webinar with Dr John S Hartas

SyntheSys is happy to announce our latest webinar which focuses on how organisations can increase the value of Interoperability Management.

The types, roles and environments of Tactical Data Link platforms are ever increasing, providing a greater cohesion of not just the Recognised Air Picture (RAP) but the entire battlefield.  Units on the battlefield require assurance that the information being presented is of high quality and can guarantee timeliness of contribution.  This can only be achieved effectively if the information enterprise is properly engineered.  Join this 1-hour session now to:
  • Understand Tactical Data Links in a Systems-of-Systems context.
  • Join a discussion on open systems interoperability.
  • Consider how to establish national and platform requirements.
  • Understand why it's imperative that systems are rigorously tested and learn techniques for doing this at reduced costs.

SyntheSys' New INCOSE CSEP Course Content is Well Received!

SyntheSys delivered its Certified Systems Engineering Professional (CSEP) Preparation Course, meeting the release of Version 4 of the International Council on Systems Engineering (INCOSE) Systems Engineering (SE) Handbook.  This release incorporates considerable changes to the previous Handbook and the material for the Associated Systems Engineering Professional (ASEP)CSEP examination.  The new Handbook is consistent with the ISO/IEC/IEEE 15288:2015.  We were pleased to present the first of four scheduled five day courses for 2016 at Branston Hall Hotel, Lincoln between 29th February and 4th March.

This course prepares the student for the examination by working through all the examinable content in a structured manner, supported by interactive learning techniques and a CSEP experienced instructor.

The INCOSE certification is applicable to multiple and interdisciplinary Systems Engineering domains.  To demonstrate competency and experience in your Systems Engineering domain, and distinguish your capabilities from your peers, start your journey to INCOSE certification with SyntheSys.

2016 courses are scheduled at Branston Hall Hotel, Lincoln on:
16th – 20th May
1st – 5th August

DATA LINK MANAGER/INTERFACE CONTROL OFFICER (DLM/ICO) TRAINING DOWN UNDER

SyntheSys DLM/ICO training moved into the truly international arena with the recent first presentation of the course to members of the Australian Defence Force.  A total of 12 personnel from the Royal Australian Navy, and staff from the Tactical Information Exchange Integration Office (TIE IO), attended the course which was held in early February at the Defence Training facility in Fyshwick, Canberra.

As with all of our DLM/ICO courses, after receiving theoretical instruction on Links 11, 16, 22, and VMF, the students were presented with a series of planning scenarios increasing in complexity to develop and test their understanding of Multi-TDL Network Architecture.  These scenarios had been specifically designed to ensure their relevance to the Australian audience.  Subsequently, using our simulation suite, the architectures were then executed to provide validation and confidence to the students that their designs met the requirements of the particular scenario.

SyntheSys strives to continually expand and improve all of its courses, utilising both simulation and operational software, so that operators will quickly grasp the sometimes difficult theoretical hurdles that working in a Multi-TDL environment can entail.  We would also like to thank the TIE IO for their support in facilitating this training.

Our next DLM/ICO courses will be held at Karup, Denmark 29 Feb-18 Mar, and at CAOC Uedem 6-24 June 16.  If you would like any information relating to these courses, or a copy of our DLM/ICO syllabus, please contact us at training@synthesys.co.uk

CAOC Uedem Again Host SyntheSys Data Link Manager (DLM) /Interface Control Officer (ICO) Training Course in 2016

We are delighted to announce that for the third consecutive year, the Combined Air Operations Centre (CAOC) Uedem, Germany is to host our Data Link Manager (DLM)/Interface Control Officer (ICO) Course.  The course continues to be extremely successful with attendees providing consistently high feedback.

The course will be held from Monday 6 June through to Friday 24 June.  The three week course, for 12 students with two instructors in support, is designed to provide personnel with an in depth understanding of how to plan, build, interact and subsequently manage Multi TDL architectures.  The course is focused on providing students with a series of challenging learning outcomes through the use of practical exercises, simulation and real world operational software.  This interactive process promotes a cooperative learning environment allowing each student to progress with confidence and a developed knowledge of each TDL.

The CAOC Uedem course will closely follow our first DLM/ICO Course of 2016, which is being hosted by the Danish JDLOC.  With attendees from Denmark, Finland, the Netherlands, Latvia and the Czech Republic, we anticipate that the training will further continue to forge a cohesive path of cross border Multi-TDL cooperation and understanding.

If you would like to attend the CAOC Uedem course or receive a copy of the full syllabus please contact training@synthesys.co.uk or alternatively call us at +44 (0)1947 821464.

SyntheSys’ Certified Systems Engineering Practitioner (CSEP) Preparation Course 2016 Schedule is Published

We are delighted to announce the dates for SyntheSys’ updated CSEP Preparation course for 2016. The course now supports the latest edition of the International Council on Systems Engineering (INCOSE) Systems Engineering handbook.

Contact Us

The course equips students with the knowledge and structure of the handbook, and its constituent processes to prepare for the CSEP examination.

This comprehensive course combines real world scenarios with theory, to provide students with a unique learning experience which will enable them to comfortably sit the INCOSE CSEP examination.

Those who will benefit include Mechanical Engineers, Project Managers, Test Engineers, Systems Developers, personnel whose role heavily integrates with the Systems Engineering process and personnel who are due to sit the CSEP examination.

Presented by a fully accredited, qualified CSEP instructor, the course examines the role and benefits of applying Systems Engineering principles within organisations. Students are taught how to apply this theory and how to use the correct terminology to convey this process and will go on to complete a series of exercises which will prepare them for the exam.

We offer discounts for group bookings and we offer our training in a number of different locations, both at customer locations and approved training venues.
