SyntheSys has been accepted onto the register of the Railway Industry Supplier Qualification Scheme (RISQS).

RISQS is designed to provide the rail industry with ownership and control of its supplier qualification arrangements.  RISQS is the entry point for suppliers and the register is used as a United Kingdom (UK) supplier qualification service.

SyntheSys has already had several successes in the railway industry and will now receive updates from the register on contract opportunities which we may want to bid for.

The organisation helps suppliers be formally recognised as proficient providers of products and services to the UK rail industry by providing an open register which they have to qualify to join.  RISQS is sponsored by a board of representatives recruited from across the rail industry and reporting to the Rail Safety and Standards Board (RSSB) which provides a range of support services to ensure successful delivery of the projects.

We are delighted to have been accepted onto the register and we are confident this will continue to support our growth in new markets.

For more information on the work we have been doing within the rail industry, and what RISQS means for your organisation, contact info@synthesys.co.uk.

Sales Expert Su Ross joins SyntheSys to lead SyntheSys Direct

We are delighted to welcome Su Ross to the SyntheSys family to lead our new associate company, SyntheSys Direct.  Su, who lives in Hampshire, is Managing Director of SyntheSys Direct Ltd, a new company which has been established to serve a growing demand for software licensing which has previously been an element of our Systems Engineering Business Group.

This venture is the joint brainchild of SyntheSys Managing Director John Hartas and Su, and has, as she emphasises, “fantastic potential for the future.”  SyntheSys Direct will handle licensing, transactional and technical matters connected with software distribution.

SyntheSys provides services to government and industry on the design, testing, delivery and maintenance of information systems.  John said “Over the past 18 months, the growth within our Systems Engineering Business group has taken us into markets and industries which have an increased need for tool support.  Our traditional System Engineering (SE) capability has been centred around mentoring organisations to implement sound and structured SE procedures, which often results in us supporting implementation of new tools or re-licensing of existing tools.  By establishing SyntheSys Direct, we see that this gives us more potential to provide independent services within our Systems Engineering group, whilst benefitting from Su’s unrivalled knowledge of market-leading Systems Engineering tools’’.

Su has a wealth of leadership and commercial experience which positions her well to lead SyntheSys Direct.  She has been working within the software sales industry for the past 16 years, after working as a buyer for a Tier 1 supplier to the automotive industry.

Previously, Su was a Sales Manager for Integrate Systems, where she worked for nearly three years.  She sold systems engineering tools to the aerospace and defence, energy, transport and rail sectors, amongst others.  Prior to this, Su was an account manager at IBM and software client lead for seven years – selling the entire IBM software portfolio into local government.

Su added: “In future, at SyntheSys Direct, the idea is to expand into software sales primarily and also to open up opportunities for other services and training that we currently provide and continue to build on our IBM Business Partner relationship.  This will involve selling to our existing customer base and we hope to attract new customers in markets in which SyntheSys has not traditionally operated.  We hope to take a flexible approach to our software delivery offering a holistic, end to end service with training or services combined.  Fundamentally, we want to add value to our customers and help them become successful in their new and existing development projects.  This is a brand-new venture for SyntheSys and I believe it holds tremendous potential.  I am really looking forward to the new challenge”.

Su enjoys many hobbies including keeping active and fit with running, cardio classes and yoga.  She also rides her motorcycle on trips around Europe.

If you would like to discuss your software requirements with Su, contact +44 (0) 7484 915743 or visit the SyntheSys Direct website at http://www.synthesys-direct.co.uk/

SyntheSys Announces Corporate Restructure

SyntheSys is delighted to announce that it has undergone a major restructure to its increasingly successful business.  The restructure is part of a strategic shift to align business capabilities to specific industry sectors with expert teams in the groups now being more specialised to the appropriate skill sets.

The organisation is now segmented into four key functional areas, Defence; Systems Engineering; Direct and Software, with SyntheSys corporate division still serving all business areas with administration, finance, marketing, security, quality and IT support. We are confident that the new management team will continue to provide unrivalled services, support and products to our markets.

Tony Castle leads SyntheSys Defence which serves our traditional Tactical Data Link (TDL) consultancy, interoperability management and TDL training market.  Our operational customers will also be served under the Defence Business Group.

Mark Williamson leads Systems Engineering where the aim is to provide systems engineering services, products and training to a variety of industry sectors to establish efficient and economic processes that enable organisations to deliver the highest quality products to their customers and end users.

Su Ross leads SyntheSys Direct and will handle licensing, transactional and technical matters connected with software sales.

We welcome Ian Pugh who leads SyntheSys Software, which offers a range of technical consultancy services that help customers understand their Information Technology (IT) needs and supports customers in acquiring  systems to meet those needs.

John Hartas, SyntheSys Managing Director commented, ‘it is a very exciting time for us here at SyntheSys.  Over the last two years we have seen tremendous growth within markets outside of our core Defence arena.  The restructure ensures that customers in each of the business areas continue to receive a unique, value added service from specialists in the appropriate field.’
